walking home down division after grabbing a couples drinks @ FUEL, i recieved the following response to my cut off shorts:

our assisgnment was to take take text (a narrative, poem, song, etc…) and create a 18×24 poster incorporating text, illustration, type as image, and/or illustration as type.
i chose to use the lyrics to the song “Parentheses” by The Blow.
::update:: i also wanted to add that we had the choice to either use a typeface or do it by hand. i chose to do it by hand because i have issues with being fully happy with any font i choose for anything. i originally had pieces drawn out in pencil that i was going to ink and scan… but i ended up just doing everything straight into the comp using my wacom tablet.

so i checked out my friend’s show at cubby bear last week- it was great! cubby bear loved them so much, they were asked to come back may 14th! with another show… comes another flyer (click to enlarge):
