if you haven’t already had the privilege to have been introduced to the great meal that is fried spam and rice (most likely by a filipino acquaintance), do yourself a favor and try it. cheap, delicious, and fulfilling. (not so much healthy, but hey… times are hard.)
p.s. more cheap and easy meals to come!
p.s. NEW LINK. sketch blog by george gabe gonzalez. fellow columbian.
short man syndrome. we all know the type. the guy’s who acts a certain way because he’s either 1) of a smaller stature or 2) making up for something else of small stature *ahem*

in other news, i applied for a job as an administrative assistant to a VP. it’s at the same company that i’ve been working at as a student since 2004, so hopefully that helps me out. i know it’s not a job having anything to do with my degree, but it pays well, comes with benefits, and i’ll be able to get rid of the financial stress which i’ve been experiencing for the past 4 and a half years. and i’ll still be doing freelance illustration, duh. wish me luck!

p.s. added a new link to the left side. IDEE GENIALE. cute girl. cute fashion. check it out. found her via my blog-friend Kafany’s blog (which you should also check out).
so, who else has got a case of the i-just-graduated-from-college-and-can’t-find-a-job-and-never-will-because-the-economy-sucks-and-so-do-i blues? because i do.
while i try to get rid of them, i shall doodle my pants off. (oh and watch ridiculously funny videos on the internet like this one)

for those of you who haven’t checked out DRAWN!, you should. it’s an illustration/cartoon art blog. multiple posts a day. that’s where i came across LUNCHBREATH. not only is he a talented illustrator, but he’s quite witty, clever, and funny, too. after looking at his drawings for a couple hours today, i ended up drawing this:

if you weren’t aware, i am an avid dance-partier.
did this one a little more quick than the first two- not as happy with this one. but hope you enjoy it nonetheless.
p.s. (off subject) got to see a screening of ZOMBIE LAND today. fuh-reak-ing AMAZING. haha. awesome awesome zombie movie. go see it! will probably do a zombie inspired drawing soon!

i finally came up with some ideas for a set of illustrations- incorporating text + image. i’m excited. i’m not sure how many pieces it will be, right now i have the sketches for 2… and i suppose it will be a set that can always be added to.
just thought i’d blog about that. i’ll probably have the first one done within a week. watch out for it! while you wait- here’s something from my sketchbook:

seriously, chicago. i KNOW you’re known for your crazy ass nonsense weather, but REALLY? i am tired of wearing jackets and carrying around an umbrella.

just a quick little doodle for a friend’s bday. whose blog you can find a link to over to the left.

in an effort to conserve money & catch up on some rest… i am not where you would normally find me on a monday night (rehab mondays @ deb… yes i know, how very “hipster” of me. but hey- an hour of free drinks & $2 beers all night? plus great dancing music? pshhh… i’m kind of regretting not being there right now). however, because i am not out enjoying my youth- YOU GUYS get a blog entry and a few new works up on angelagpestano.com. so go check those out!
in other news, i’ve eaten a lot of broccoli this week.
